Just a little update here

Hubby came home from surgery and everything is going fine. The tumor was removed and the Dr is sure he got it all. Hubby will have to go and have some treatment so that it doesn't come back. We will deal with it when the time comes. This week he has to have the rest of the scraping done on the esophagus ( SP) and stomach. By the time he is done he will be brand new...lol.

Well the kids will be here today for dinner and I am so looking forward to it. I have a full work week and this week is time to get ready for the egg hunt at the club. I still have a few things to be done, but have my sister to help and that is a biggie for me.

Have a great day

Nothing really new around Mole Hill

The only good thing is that it is starting to get warmer out and I even got out side to play a bit today.
It has been a really long 3 weeks at work. One women was on vacation for 3 weeks and while she was out our 3 managers took a week off each. Then we had people out just sick. I am off this week end. Went to a bridal shower yesterday and today just chilling.
Last sunday we went to see the movie Wild Hogs and I have to say if you get a chance to go do it! It is funny.

Went to the Dr a few weeks ago and some of my test didn't come out to good. I knew my Lupus was just a tad off and the test was right. Just going to have to keep a watch on it for now. Don't want my kidneys to start acting up.

Hubby goes in the hospital this week for the tumor in his bladder and hope that this time all goes well, don't want a repeat of last time. I will be on him like a hawk!

I will say one thing ....getting old isn't for the weak of mind. Have to keep going.

Oh I have a birthday coming up soon and Hubby bought me the Photosmart printer. It really prints great little pictures and I love the fact that you can just take it with you wherever you go. I just want to know who did the research on it ...say that the prints will last 100 year in a glass frame and 200 year in a photo album???? Have they been holding out on us and had this stuff all the years? How in the world would they know that they are going to last that long? and who going to be around to know????
Well that about it for now
Catch you on the flip side Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise

Bitchology

Recived this in a email and it say it all!
BITCHOLOGY
When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a bitch.
When I stand up for those I love, they call me a bitch.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or do things my own way, they call me a bitch.
Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my heart.
It means I live my life MY way.
It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.
When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it, I am defined as a bitch.
The same thing happens when I take time for myself instead of being everyone's maid,
or when I act a little selfish.
It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I "should" be.
I am outspoken, opinionated and determined.
I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!
So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me.
You won't succeed. And if that makes me a bitch , so be it. I embrace the title and am proud to bear it

The Joke on ME!

In a early post I put that a Baltimore Oriole show up at Christmas eve. Now he has been here ever since. I have keep him well feed so he would make it though the winter.

To my surprise .....I was outside this morning and hear him in the tree singing. I look up and there are two of them! Both Male. I was wondering how one little bird could eat so much. Now it would be nice if a female show up, as I don't think the two that are out there are going to be making any baby birds soon! Oh course it wouldn't surprise me at all for me to wind up with a few gay birds....lol. After all I never got to get a Bluebird to come to the yard. Even after ordering 2,000 meal worms on the Internet for them. I do wind up with the strangest critter in the yard...lol.

Now they shouldn't even be here at this time of year. They usually only migrate though here. So now for 2 months I have had two of them and finally caught them together.Well leave it to a man not to get direction on how to get back south....ROFL. So now we have Chris and Prancer out there.

The Broom

We have a small town in the Cape May area called Cold Springs. The town live like the 1800's. You can tour the town and buy things that were made for the time. I have a broom and it sit in the kitchen and has for about 5 years.

Now one day Maggie our 5 yr old granddaughter was have a snack at the table and it was like she just saw the broom for the first time! Now I am a firm believer that kids are to have fun with...lol.

Our conversation that day

Maggie...MomMom why do you have that broom there?

MomMom...Why Maggie that is my Witches Broom.

Maggie ...MomMom can you fly on it?

MomMom...Why yes I can, but we don't tell anyone!

Maggie ...I want to see you fly now.

MomMom...Oh honey I can't fly it now! It is daytime and I can only fly at night when no one see me.

Maggie...Well MomMom is you go flying tonight and you come over to our house, just don't come crashing into the big window! I don't want you to scare me!

Now I am trying my best to keep from laughing. You might think she knows about the way I drive! Now as time goes on and Maggie is here many times after that day, she never brings up the broom again. One night they were here late and Maggie comes up with the idea it dark out and she wants to see MomMom fly! Now I have to come up with a reason that I can't fly tonight!

Well Maggie ......I can't fly tonight as the broom is broken! I have to send it out to be fixed. With that she says ok but when it fixed I want you to fly to our house so I can see you.

Now she has ask me many of times when I am getting the broom fixed and I just tell her that they don't have the right parts at the witches store right now.

Now the best part is she is really into the Harry Potter movies. So she is wondering if MomMom is really a witch now...lol. Oh I forgot to tell you that I am a big Harry Potter Fan and she see all the stuff around here...lol.

So now I have one Granddaughter that think I am a alien and one thinks I am a witch. Oh life can be so much fun with the kids....ROFL.

Snow, sleet, ice, rain ...OH MY!

Well it has been a roller coaster ride with the weather the past 24 hrs. We start with snow yesterday. That was nice while it lasted. Now that wasn't really to long. As the day went on it had turn to sleet, not good at all! During the night it chance to rain. This morning we woke up to frozen walks and cars that were covered in ice. Hubby went out and made a path to get to the car and it took awhile to get the car thawed out...lol. Off to work I go. Not to bad a drive, but as the day goes on we go from rain to sleet to the sun shining. Talk about some crazy weather. Now to top it off we lost power at work and have to close, not to bad for me as it time for me to go home anyway.

As I sit here tonight we have had sleet and snow again! The trees and bushes are cover with ice. I took a few pictures of it, but it was just a tad to cold to stay out there. We are at 18degrees and the wind is really going crazy right now. I hope we don't loss power!

Well that about it from Mole Hill and I am getting ready to wrap up in a warm blankie for the night.

Story from my Grandaughter Emilie

There's nothing better than baking sweets right? Except eating them! Well I've got the best recipe for you. I call it Valentines Day Surprise. You can make them so tasty, all your friends will smile with delight and happily say that your the most brilliant creature ever.

The ingredients are simple. Start by taking 2 cups of flour, baking soda, and eggs, and combine them in a bowl. Then , add some red sugar,
one tablespoon of vanilla, and 2 eggs. Mix these items as fast as you can with lots of love. Now for the secret ingredient. For extra special flavor, add some hand fulls of chocolate to taste. Combine everything together. Once all the bumps are gone , pour it into a well greased pan.
Place in the oven for 12 min. When time is out take your creation out and as they say in France, bon appetite!

The Laundromat

I will start this by reminding all that I was married at the ripe old age of 17....(I know I know way too young).

Now on with the story..Hubby was in the Navy when we were married and we spent time in Conn. and then on to S.C. I love the south and everything about it. Oh I forgot to mention this was in 1966. Now being from the north and not used to the ways of the south at the time, I had a few adjustments to make.

We had a small trailer that was in a very small trailer park with all his shipmates living there...well it had one road in it....lol. Now the trailer we had 8x35 ft and it had a washer in it but not a dryer. So every few day around I go to the laundromat to dry a few things, the rest of the stuff I hung in the small yard we had. Oh I forgot to mention it rains everyday at 4 almost like clock work. Now after a little time Hubby came home one day and said he just had to ask me something that has been bothering him, with this I said ok what. He wanted to know why I only took the white clothes to the laundromat to dry and not the dark clothes? I told him they have a sign on the door that says WHITES ONLY! and it is a big sign so I'm not taking the dark clothes in there. They have a lady in there to make sure you only do the whites only! Now being that I am young and not to much of the world, well you see before I was married I don't think I ever left N.J. Hubby had to sit me down and tell me what the sign met. WHAT NO WAY! You can't do that. Now I had no idea that this was happening and we were in the south as the desegration was going on. I was shocked to say the least and Hubby had to take me around to show me more signs because I just wouldn't believe him.

Now many years later I was home and the phone rings and it is my friend, and she tells me I have to rent a movie and I will know the part when I see it. She wouldn't tell me what to look for. So out I go and get the movie and low and behold there is my story in the movie!!!! Oh the movie is "We Were Soliders. At that point I said to Hubby they stole my story! It has been told many times and I knew someday it would come back to me...lol. I don't know where they got it from for the movie, but it is just a little to close to my story.....lol.

Well that my story and I am sticking to it!

Peace and Hugs ^i^ DeeDee

Who can stay still the longest

As I was about to get ready to go to work yesterday, I was just sitting here doing a few things on the net and caught out of the corner of my eye a large flapping. Well who has come for a meal....good old Hawkeye ( as I call him, I know real original ). I have to name a few of the special birds or Hubby doesn't have any idea what I am talking about.

Now Chris the Baltimore Oriole is in the bush waiting to have his lunch. I was only hoping that Hawkeye didn't see him. As bright orange as Chris is I just don't know how Hawkeye didn't see him! I couldn't go out and chase Hawkeye or Chris would have flew away too and put him right in his path. I just hate waiting out the drama between the birds. As it turn out Chris stay real still and Hawkeye left not to long after that. I don't know why Chris is still here, it is much to cold for him and he should have left. But as long as he is here I will keep him well feed. Oh I name him Chris because he show up on Christmas Eve and has been here everyday since.
Have a great day ....Just a little happening from Mole Hill NJ

Peace and love DeeDee ^i^

Work ...work and more work

Today was a fun day at work. The sad part was that our Asst Manager is been transfer to another store and today was her last day with us. In the time that Mary has came to the store to work with us, Mary and I have become friends and have had a lot of fun time and great laughs together. I will miss Mary at work and I hope that she has a great crew to work with at the new store. It not to often that you meet someone and connect right away. I wanted to get Mary something before she left and just couldn't think of anything special, Then it hit me I would give something of myself and hope that she would like it. I gave her a photo I took from the yard this past summer. We had talk a lot about the yard and the work that I do in it and how I spend lots of time just taking pictures. Mary was very happy with the photo and wants more for her dining room. Here is the photo that I gave her.

Mary I will miss you and the fun times we had at work. You know a job is a lot easier when you work with people you like.

Work..need I say more!

Been one of those weeks! We are into inventory mode and nerves are a little on edge. We are trying to get the store ready and now the DM has come up with the great idea of sending us a big truck on Thursday and Friday. We will have inventory on Monday night. That means we work till then. Of all weekends SUPER BOWL! Don't know what the DM was think when he plan this one. We have about 8 of us at work that know what has to be done on the sales floor, so it is up to us to get it done. It going to be a tuff week and we just can't get a break till after this is over. When you start with the Christmas season and go right into inventory mode after that it can get tuff.

We aren't a big store like Wal-mart or Target, but it takes a lot to get ready. We only have 12 people that work in the store, not counting management.

I have a birthday party on Saturday and a super bowl party on Sunday. Tomorrow I have a funeral to go to for my Great-Aunt and we are to have a snow storm tomorrow to top it off. Not that we need that now.

I am into the winter dull drums and I don't like it one bit. I miss seeing my grandchildren. I am used to seeing them on a more regular basic, but this will pass. I go though this every year.

Hubby takes up his time going to the casino and other things, I'm just not into that. Well I guess I better find something to do or this winter will just drag out more.

Well that about it from good old Mole Hill NJ and time to get ready for a good night sleep, it has been a long day.

Vacations as we knew them.

Let just start by saying I was a city girl till the rip old age of 13. Now down to the country my parents move and I'm not a happy camper! Not the outdoors type if you get my drift.I have been to the beach maybe 4 times in my life and don't know how to SWIM! The few times I was there it wasn't good. I really don't like the sand going into every part of the body and you find it for days...lol.
Now you have to say...I look really happy about being at the beach, but the one good thing is after 3 kids I still could wear a little 2 piece bathing suit. Now I wouldn't be able to get one of my thigh in that suit!

Meet Hubby get married and off we go for the wonderful life together. Now comes the vacations. First I have to tell you that I have Lupus and NOT aloud in the sun. Didn't know this for years and as a child I had sun poison so bad that it was to the hospital we went.

We always took day trips when the two older boys were little and I was happy about that. Now when I was excepting number 3 Hubby comes home to tell me he got a place at the shore for a week....WHAT! Now I will be packing for a week at the shore with a 7 yr old, 5 yr old and 4month old baby. Oh what joy this will be.

Now back then they really didn't have the sunblock they have now, and it really doesn't help that much for me.The sun just kinda eats holes into my skin and then I am scard. So needless to say after the first day at the beach I am fried! I am pale skinned as it is and this sure doesn't help. I not saying we didn't have a good time. We always did and Hubby still goes to the shore every year with the oldest son and his kids.Mom stays home with the dogs and other pets......lol

Well back to were I was....Do you have any idea what you have to take for a week with no washer and dryer for 3 kids and the food you need to take. Well before we even got out of the house I was tired. Oh don't forget the BIKES! We are off and running.

The week went well and as I knew what was going to happen next, on the way out to drop off the keys he books the place for 2 week the next year! Now I am fried to a crisp and have lugged a 4mouth old to the beach everyday and just want to get home. As it turn out we vacation at the same town for the next 14 years. As the kids got older we also added to the mix of friends and family with us. Each of the boys usually had a friend with them and of course the dogs went too.

I cook and clean for the whole crew and I still wouldn't change a thing about it. To me in a lot of way we were home with the beach outside the door. Sad to say it all came to an end for me when the Dr's finally found out what was wrong with me all those years. That what ended the weeks at the shore. I miss them and always will, but not much sense in paying all that money to sit inside. I do love going on the boat, but I can do that for short periods of time. So that has become my outdoor fun.Oh I do love being on the boat and flying down the river! I am glad that I got to do it with the family for all those years. Will always have great memories of the times spend there. So happy to know that the sons have carry on the same tradition for the grandchildren and their friends.
I have learn to love the beach over the years and Hubby and I will head down there a few times a year just to walk and enjoy nature.

How it all started

When this great looking Navy Man parents moved next door to us that all it took..I was hooked! The bait was there and I was the fish just swimming around to be caught..lol. It only took 6 months till we were walking down the to the alter to say the I Do's. Let just say that when I see what I want I go after it. I wanted that sailor boy! Oh I forgot to say that Hubby has the most beautiful blue eyes that you just melt into.

Now you might want to know that I was just 17 years old and Hubby was 25. I knew from the minute I saw him he was the one I wanted to be with the rest of my life.

I always felt like the ugly duck growing up and never in my dreams thought that anyone would think and feel that way about me.

I will never forget something that my Grandmother told me few years later and that the day that I felt pretty for the first time in my life. I still to this day remember it as if it was just yesterday. She told me that she had never seen a more beautiful bride then me and never saw a more in love man then Hubby. That when I came into the church it was if we were the only two people there and the look that cross between us was pure love. That was a very special day for me and in some ways more then my wedding day. Now I knew Hubby loves me, but when someone else say it and in a way that make you see it from their eyes. It does make you stop and really understand. Now most of the family didn't think we would last more that a few years. We have been together now for 42 years and I think it is safe to say we will make this marriage work...lol.

Oh we have had our days and I will get into a few of them later on in the blog. I hope to be able to tell a few story here that have made life fun and sad and all the things in between.

Oh Boy!!! The tree is DOWN!

As I am running a little late this year..lol. The christmas tree is DOWN! The living room looks so bare without it.

Now I have been busting my butt at work and am on a three day weekend...yahhhhhhhhhh. I have a lot to get done around here. This morning it was playing on the blog and changing a few things around. Tonight while Hubby watches the football game I will be working on getting a few old photo scan and maybe a few other things here.
That about it from Mole Hill...oh it is warm and sunny again today. We are at 55 degrees right now.

Surprize for this time of year.....

I was out filling the feeders for all the little critters that visit me everyday and I turn around to see this flower blooming. Now it is the last day of the year and I just couldn't believe that it was there. I know it has been warm here, but this is just a tad to much! I hope it doesn't mess up the blooming of the flowers for spring. This is a Scotch Bush and it blooms most of the spring and summer. It really get big and have to trim them back ever year.
Oh Chris is still here and I put out fruit for him this morning and he just about attack it...lol.

It is over for another year....

As I sit here tonight and think about the past month, I do have so much to be thankful for. Hubby is still with me and that is the biggest of all. This was the best present that I ever got.
It has been a tough month with sickness and almost losing Hubby twice in 24 hrs. He still has a way to go to getting back to his old self, but that will come in time.
We ended the year by going to the casino...dinner and some slots for me, poker for him. Yes Mr. Trump got my money again! We had a good time but was home early, don't feel like fighting the drunks on the road!

This week was good on a lot of way. This year for Christmas I gave a lot of photo that I have taken and was surprise at the response I got from everyone. I like to take pictures and think they are ok, so I thought give something of myself then just go and buy anything. Work out great.

The grandkids had a great Christmas this year and that alway makes us happy. It has been a rough year for a few of the grandkids after the spit of the parents, but they are getting by ok and making the ajustment.

Hubby got me a laptop for Christmas this year, I am trying to get used to it, but it is a really different feel to it, but I will get used to it in no time. I want to used it to get all my photos put in files. That way I can find a photo when I want it. I have about 5,000 photos to go through...lol. I think that will keep me busy and out of trouble for a bit..lol.

This fall my Aunt lost her husband of 42 years, I want to say that she has been doing ok for this time of the year and handle it well. He was a very fun loving man and we will miss him for a long time to come. She sent this to me in a email and I am putting it here to end this year with. She wrote this and it is a sign of healing for her.

Uncle Bob...Husband, Father, Grandpop, Brother and Friend to all.

A tear
Falling on my cheek
Remembering the love
Remembering the joy
Remembering the touch
Now saddened by the loss
The loss of the love
The loss of the joy
The loss of the touch
I will regain my strength
My strength to go on
My strength to feel love again
My strength to feel joy again
My strength to feel the touch again
My strength to remember the tear on my cheek
My strength to set it free, but always remember
the past. S.

I Wish you all a great year
